Francis Furia

MD, MMed, MSc, PGD

Francis Furia is an academician in the department of Paediatrics and Child Health at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) and a clinician at Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH). He has a rank of Associate Professor at MUHAS, and works as a medical specialist for general paediatrics, paediatric and adult nephrology at MNH. He is a member of the governing council for the Paediatric Association of Tanzania and a founding member of the Nephrology Society of Tanzania, serving as its Secretary General. He is a fellow of the International Paediatric Nephrology Association and the Royal College of Physicians (London).

Mariam Noorani

Dr. Mariam Noorani is a paediatrician, lactation consultant, and educator specializing in childhood nutrition, breastfeeding, primary care paediatrics, and medical education. She has over 14 years of experience at Aga Khan University and Hospital, where she serves as Chair of Paediatrics and Head of Research. Her work focuses on improving breastfeeding practices, Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative implementation, support for employed mothers, and postgraduate medical education. She has extensive experience in qualitative and quantitative research and collaborates with organizations to inform health policy. Her professional interests include advancing breastfeeding as a key public health intervention, strengthening evidence-based medical education, and promoting paediatric and lactation research across Africa.

Linda Paul Athman

Linda Paul Athman

MD, MMed

Dr. Linda Paul Athman is a medical doctor specializing in Pediatrics and Child Health, with expertise in public health and research. She has over six years of experience working with the Ministry of Health, POLARG, and NGOs to advance newborn, child, and adolescent health in Tanzania. She has contributed to national health initiatives, including the NEHCIP and MPDSR guideline updates, and serves as a national trainer in newborn and child health. An active researcher, author, and member of the Paediatric Association of Tanzania and the MPDSR Steering Committee, her work focuses on strengthening child health systems and promoting evidence-based interventions across Africa.

Amosi Kilipamwambu

Amosi Kilipamwambu

MD, MSc

Dr. Amosi Kilipamwambu is a Tanzanian medical doctor and health systems researcher at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), where he serves as a Medical Officer and Research and Publication Coordinator for the Global HOPE program. With expertise in pediatric hemato-oncology, health economics, and antimicrobial stewardship, he has coordinated clinical research for over three years, authored several peer-reviewed publications, and presented his work at international conferences. His interests focus on pediatric cancer care, health systems research, and scientific communication.

Dr. Rune Philemon is a pediatrician with expertise in general pediatrics and over 18 years of experience in teaching institutions within and outside Tanzania. His work focuses on pediatric public health and infectious diseases. He has collaborated with the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Stony Brook University, Cornell University, and the University of Gothenburg on clinical and research initiatives. His professional interests include public health, neurology, disability, and infectious diseases, with a commitment to improving access to quality healthcare for all children.

Zawadi Edward Kalezi

Zawadi Edward Kalezi

MD, MMed

Dr Zawadi is a practicing paediatrician in the paediatric cardiology department of Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She also serves as a senior honorary lecturer, training residents and medical students affiliated with Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences. She is currently a co-coordinator of the paediatric residency program and has authored several research papers in the field of paediatric and child health.

Getrud Joseph Mollel

Getrud Joseph Mollel

MD, MMed, MSc

Dr. Getrud Joseph Mollel is a paediatrician and a global health research scientist at the Ifakara Health Institute, and currently a Clinical Research Fellow at City St George's University of London. Her main areas of interest include neonatal and child health and health system strengthening, especially in resource-limited settings. She is also a trained expert in guideline methodologies and evaluation of interventions. Dr. Getrud led the Service Delivery thematic area in the mid-term evaluation of Tanzania's Health Sector Strategic Plan (HSSP V) and is involved in updating the National Essential Health Care Intervention Package.

Elisamia Ngowi

Elisamia Ngowi

Dr. Elisamia Ngowi is a specialist in Paediatrics and Child Health with a strong interest in child health, health systems, and clinical research. He has four years of experience as a Paediatrics resident at Aga Khan Hospital and University. He has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to publish research in reputable international journals and serves as a member of Tanzania's Ministry of Health MPDSR Steering Committee. His interests include advancing paediatric care and promoting clinical research in pediatrics and child health across Africa.

Elton Meleki

Elton Meleki

MD, MMed

Dr. Elton Meleki is a Tanzanian pediatrician and lecturer at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University (KCMUCo) with a strong interest in paediatric haematology and oncology. He is actively involved in improving childhood cancer care through healthcare provider training, nursing oncology, and family-centered support initiatives. A member of the Paediatric African League Against Rheumatism (PAFLAR), he also collaborates with the Princess Maxima Center for Paediatric Oncology to strengthen childhood cancer care, research, and international knowledge exchange, with a focus on early diagnosis and improved treatment outcomes in resource-limited settings.
